RED BAND TRAILER: 'Evil Dead'

Courtesy of IGN, the brutal full trailer to the remake of Sam Raimi's 1981 horror icon Evil Dead is finally here, and it does not disappoint. Judging by this Red Band trailer which pulls no punches, this version looks bloody, scary as hell, and will easily earn its hard R rating.

Word of re-visiting the film with a new cast and director was of course met with extreme skepticism at first, but once Evil Dead star and producer, the one and only Bruce Campbell, and director Sam Raimi took a hands-on involvement in the reboot, trepidations quickly subsided for the fans who hold the series in high esteem.

"It's a pretty violent film. There's lots and lots of blood. It's a beautiful movie - visually, actually, it looks so fricking cool," Evil Dead star Jane Levy told Collider at New York Comic Con.

Here is the official synopsis of the film:

"Five twenty-something friends become holed up in a remote cabin where they discover The Book Of The Dead and unwittingly summon up dormant demons living in the nearby woods, which possess the youngsters in succession until only one is left intact to fight for survival." 

Directed by Fede Alvarez, Evil Dead stars Jane Levy (Suburgatory), Shiloh Fernandez (Red Riding Hood), and Jessica Lucas (Melrose Place). Bruce Campbell and Sam Raimi both serve as producers, and Oscar-winning screenwriter Diablo Cody shares a script credit with Raimi and director Alavrez.

The film is set to hit theaters on April 12, 2013.

'The Hobbit' Reveals Its First TV Spot

The first TV spot for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey has been released, which in its 30-second running time, blends its darker elements with the film's at times whimsical nature.

The first chapter in Peter Jackson's epic trilogy prequel to The Lord of the Rings, An Unexpected Journey will follow Martin Freeman, as the Hobbit Bilbo Baggins, as he is joined by a whole new eclectic group of Middle Earth's heroes and villains in addition to returning Rings cast members Ian McKellan (Gandalf), Andy Serkis (Gollum), Cate Blanchett (Galadriel), Hugo Weaving (Elrond), Orlando Bloom (Legolas), Ian Holm (Bilbo Baggins), and Elijah Wood (Frodo Baggins).

“The Hobbit” follows the journey of title character Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman), who is swept into an epic quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor, which was long ago conquered by the dragon Smaug. Approached out of the blue by the wizard Gandalf the Grey (Ian McKellen), Bilbo finds himself joining a company of thirteen dwarves led by the legendary warrior, Thorin Oakenshield (Richard Armitage). Their journey will take them into the Wild; through treacherous lands swarming with Goblins and Orcs, deadly Wargs and Giant Spiders, Shapeshifters and Sorcerers.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is set to hit theaters in 3D and IMAX on December 14th. Additional select theaters will screen the film in 48fps, which was the native format Peter Jackson shot the film in.

TRAILER TO THE TRAILER: 'Evil Dead'

The trailer for the remake of Sam Raimi's horror icon Evil Dead is set to debut online tomorrow. Screen Gems has released a teaser video with some quick gimpses and footage from last weekend's cast appearance at New York Comic Con where the trailer made its world premiere.

Evil Dead, directed by Fede Alvarez, stars Jane Levy, Shiloh Fernandez, Lou Taylor Pucci, Jessica Lucas, and Elizabeth Blackmore. The film opens opens April 12, 2013.

Meet The Munsters In These 'Mockingbird Lane' Clips

NBC has released clips from the pilot episode of Mockingbird Lane, the reboot of the '60s B&W sitcom. The stand alone show is set to air on October 26th as a part of a night of special Halloween event programming.

Directed by Bryan Singer and produced by Bryan Fuller, the show stars Jerry O'Connell (Herman), Portia de Rossi Lily), Eddie Izzard (Grandpa), Charity Wakefield (Marilyn), and Mason Cook (Eddie).

Here is NBC's description of the show, which has not been picked up as a series:

In "Mockingbird Lane," sweet little Eddie Munster (Cook) is a normal kid about to enter the horrors of puberty. The truth is, he's about to discover that, for him, becoming a teenager means growing hair in truly unexpected places - as in all over his body - every time the moon is full! Eddie's got it pretty good though. His loving, supportive, run-of-the-mill family includes his mom Lily (de Rossi), the daughter of Dracula, his dad Herman (O'Connell), who brings new meaning to "Frankenstein," and Grandpa (Izzard), who would give Dracula a run for his money if he weren't actually Dracula! Of course, there's creepy cousin Marilyn (Wakefield), who's really the odd one because she's so completely normal. 

Buying a house these days is a nightmare, so Herman and Lily are shocked that no one scooped up the rambling Victorian mansion at 1313 Mockingbird Lane that was the site of a series of grisly hobo murders. Settling into their new place, they're quickly onto the mission at hand: to gently ease Eddie into the reality of his werewolf adolescence. But it's not always so easy to accept that your child is a little "different" from the rest of the kids. Meanwhile, Herman, who works as a funeral director, is suffering from a heart condition. Since he's made up mostly of spare parts, he knew his makeshift heart would eventually give out. No worries though, because Grandpa, who is pretty good at procuring body parts, is on the case. All Herman cares about is finding a new heart with the same capacity to love Lily as much as he has for so many decades.

TRAILER: 'Iron Man 3'

The full trailer to Iron Man 3 has been unleashed as promised. Following the events of The Avengers, the film looks to deliver a very dark storyline, showing Tony Stark's world being destroyed as he is faced with his own creations being directly turned against him. We have some brief glimpses of red, white, and blue armor of The Iron Patriot, and following a voice over from Sir Ben Kingsley, a reveal of The Mandarin.

Iron Man 3, set for a May 3, 2013 release, stars Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Jon Favreau, Paul Bettany, Guy Pearce, Ben Kingsley, Rebecca Hall, James Badge Dale, and Ashley Hamilton.
