Angelina Jolie As Disney's MALEFICENT Revealed In New Teaser Poster

There has been much a buzzing about casting Angelina Jolie as the villainous title character in the big screen variation of Sleeping Beauty, most of it good. The majority of opinions sway towards an intrigued excitement over the prospect of seeing Jolie take this iconic role by horns.

We now have this new official image of Maleficent (beyond the concept image that surfaced online earlier this year) courtesy of the newly released one-sheet via the film's official Facebook Page.

Disney also announced we can look forward to a first look trailer will hit tomorrow at 9am EST.

Here is the film's official synopsis:
"Maleficent rises to be the land's fiercest protector, but she ultimately suffers a ruthless betrayal -- an act that begins to turn her pure heart to stone. Bent on revenge, Maleficent faces an epic battle with the invading king's successor and, as a result, places a curse upon his newborn infant Aurora. As the child grows, Maleficent realizes that Aurora holds the key to peace in the kingdom -- and perhaps to Maleficent's true happiness as well."

Maleficent is scheduled for a May 30, 2014 release.

Behold! All The 'THOR: THE DARK WORLD' Posters In One Post

Marvel Studios definitely has racked up an impressive collection of character one-sheets for the upcoming Thor: The Dark World.  It astounds me how great these posters are compared to the atrocious Photoshop hack job that was done on the final promotional one-sheet for The Avengers.

Included in this updated set (in addition to the first one-sheets featuring Chris Hemsworth as Thor and the first image below featuring the entire cast), the character posters highlight in order of appearance Loki (Tom Hiddleston), Malekith (Christopher Eccleston), Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), Volstagg (Ray Stevenson), Sif (Jamie Alexander), Heimdall (Idris Elba), Odin (Anthony Hopkins), and additional poster images of Malekith and Thor.

For all you Two Broke Girls fans, we're still on hold to see if Kat Dennings gets her own poster or not.

Thor: The Dark World, part of Marvel's ongoing Phase Two of big screen adventures (set in the post-Avengers timeline), will hit theaters in 3D on November 8th.

New Poster For 'Thor: The Dark World' Revealed

We still are on hold in regards to the Comic Con footage from Thor: The Dark World making its way beyond its Hall H presentation, but we did get to see Tom Hiddleston slay the crowd when he appeared on stage in character as Loki.

Until out next sneak peek arrives, here is the new one-sheet featuring the cast for the sequel to 2011's Thor to hold us over for the time being.

Part of Marvel's cinematic Phase Two set after the events of The Avengers, Thor: The Dark World reunites Chris Hemsworth as the Norse God of Thunder with Natalie Portman (Jane Foster), Kat Dennings (Darcy Lewis), Anthony Hopkins (Odin), Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Stellan Skarsgård (Dr. Selvig), Idris Elba (Heimdall) and Jaimie Alexander (Sif). Christopher Eccleston (Doctor Who, G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra) joins the cast as Malekith the Accursed, the evil leader of the Dark Elves of Svartalfheim.

Official synopsis:
"Marvel’s “Thor: The Dark World” continues the big-screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself. In the aftermath of Marvel’s “Thor” and “Marvel’s The Avengers,” Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos…but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all."

You can see the first trailer HERE and or check out my coverage of Thor: The Dark World at the 2013 Toy Fair where a full look at Malekith was revealed HERE.

Directed by Alan Taylor, the film is set for theaters in 3D on November 8th.

TRAILER: 'Gravity'

The long awaited first trailer to Gravity from director Alfonso Cuarón (Children of Men, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban) has finally been released, and it's a nail biter. The sci-fi thriller starring George Clooney and Sandra Bullock, follows two astronauts trapped in space after an accident leaves them little hope for survival over 300 miles above the Earth.

Synopsis:
"Sandra Bullock plays Dr. Ryan Stone, a brilliant medical engineer on her first shuttle mission, with veteran astronaut Matt Kowalsky (George Clooney) in command of his last flight before retiring. But on a seemingly routine spacewalk, disaster strikes. The shuttle is destroyed, leaving Stone and Kowalsky completely alone–tethered to nothing but each other and spiraling out into the blackness. The deafening silence tells them they have lost any link to Earth…and any chance for rescue. As fear turns to panic, every gulp of air eats away at what little oxygen is left. But the only way home may be to go further out into the terrifying expanse of space."
Gravity is set for an October 19th release in 2D, 3D and 3D IMAX

'The Lone Ranger' Character One-Sheets Showcase The Cast

TRAILER: 'Elysium'

District 9 director Neill Blomkamp follows up his gritty groundbreaking 2009 sci-fi tale with Elysium, a dystopian future set where social classes collide and stars Matt Damon and Jodi Foster. It promises to provoke as much thought as District 9, and provide a sci-fi visual feast on the big screen.
"In the year 2154, two classes of people exist: the very wealthy, who live on a pristine man-made space station that is disguised as a massive floating city called Elysium, and the rest, who live on an overpopulated, ruined Earth. The people of Earth are desperate to escape the planet's crime and poverty, and they critically need the state-of-the-art medical care available on Elysium – but some in Elysium will stop at nothing to enforce anti-immigration laws and preserve their citizens' luxurious lifestyle. The only man with the chance to bring equality to these worlds is Max Coburn (Matt Damon), a 29-year-old ordinary guy in desperate need to get to Elysium. With his life hanging in the balance, he reluctantly takes on a dangerous mission – one that pits him against Elysium's mayor, Secretary Jessica Delacourt (Jodie Foster) and her hard-line forces – but if he succeeds, he could save not only his own life, but millions of people on Earth as well."

Elysium hits theaters on August 9th.
