PETER CAPALDI's New Look As The Twelfth Doctor Revealed!

“He's woven the future from the cloth of the past. Simple, stark, and back to basics. No frills, no scarf, no messing, just 100 per cent Rebel Time Lord,” says Peter Capaldi about the look of the Twelfth Doctor's.

Via Twitter, BBC has revealed Peter Capaldi's threads as the Doctor. When the 55-year old Scotsman made a brief post-regeneration appearance at the conclusion of The Time of the Doctor, he was still wearing the clothes of the Eleventh Doctor. We now have a the full reveal of what Capaldi will be wearing in Doctor Who's upcoming Season Eight.

"A brand-new era of Doctor Who begins as the Time Lord dons a new look. Each incarnation of the Doctor has his own original style, and BBC AMERICA has just released the first photo of the Twelfth Doctor’s costume. Sporting a dark blue Crombie coat with red lining, dark blue trousers, a white shirt as well as black Doc Marten shoes, the look was created by Doctor Who costume designer Howard Burden. Commenting on his costume, Peter Capaldi said: “He's woven the future from the cloth of the past. Simple, stark, and back to basics. No frills, no scarf, no messing, just 100 per cent Rebel Time Lord.” While lead writer and executive producer Steven Moffatadded: “New Doctor, new era, and of course new clothes. Monsters of the universe, the vacation is over - Capaldi is suited and booted and coming to get you!” This new look will be featured in the series when Doctor Who returns to BBC AMERICA later this year. Filming on the upcoming season, which also stars Jenna Coleman (Death Comes to Pemberley) as companion Clara, is currently underway in Cardiff."

First Look Image of Peter Capaldi On The Set of DOCTOR WHO Is Revealed!

The BBC has released the first official pic of Peter Capaldi on the Cardiff, Wales set of Doctor Who along side Jenna Coleman. It is the first day of filming in 2014 for Capaldi as the Twelfth Doctor, who was first fully seen briefly at the conclusion of the Who Christmas Special, The Time of the Doctor.

This sneak peek does not provide us with a full reveal of the newest incarnation of the iconic Time Lord. The 55-year old Capaldi is seen wearing the clothes of the Eleventh Doctor, played by Matt Smith. So this image is probably taken from an early scene in the episode, and the newly regenerated Doctor has yet to pick out his new threads.

Filming on series eight is scheduled to go to August, and new episodes are expected to air in the fall of 2014.

The new Doctor, Peter Capaldi, stepped on set today for his first full day of filming as production begins on series 8 of the hit BBC show. 

10.2 million tuned-in on Christmas Day to get their first glimpse of Capaldi in one of TV’s most iconic roles in the festive special The Time of the Doctor, which saw Matt Smith hang-up his bow tie after 4 years in the role.

Capaldi was revealed as the Doctor in a live BBC One show in August, after months of speculation about the next Doctor’s identity.

Arriving on set in Cardiff to begin filming, Peter Capaldi said:

“New job, first day, slightly nervous. Just like the Doctor, I'm emerging from the TARDIS into a whole other world.”

It should be noted that Capaldi is officially considered the Twelfth Doctor. While the regeneration count is at thirteen when including John Hurt's War Doctor and Tennant's re-deux, the numbering of the Doctors remains intact. Thankfully this ends the rampant speculation that arose surrounding the events of the 50th Anniversary regarding what "number" Capaldi's Doctor would be.

First Clip & Extended Trailer Released From The DOCTOR WHO Christmas Special, THE TIME OF THE DOCTOR

Matt Smith's time as the Doctor is coming to end on Christmas Day. In this year's highly anticipated Christmas Special, The Time of the Doctor, we will see Smith regenerate into the next incarnation of the iconic Time Lord, to be played by Peter Capaldi, and the next stage of adventures will be set.

As we saw in last month's 50th Anniversary episode, The Day of the Doctor, Gallifrey is still out there in a time pocket, and not destroyed by the Doctor in accordance with a new timeline, and a new driving arc has been found for the show's future.

Matt Smith's swan song is sure to leave fans at a loss, but at the same time a welcome introduction to Peter Capaldi as the Twelfth Doctor (or Thirteenth? Fourteenth??).

The Chronicles of DOCTOR WHO's Early Days Set For AN ADVENTURE IN SPACE AND TIME Tonight!

The Day of the Doctor is practically here, but before we celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Doctor Who, it's time to re-visit the show's earliest days. Tonight at 9pm on BBC America, the docudrama An Adventure in Space and Time starring David Bradley as the First Doctor will take fans back to the genesis of the longest running science fiction show in history.

An alien Time Lord exploring space and time in a Police Box spaceship called the “TARDIS” (Time And Relative Dimension in Space). Twenty-Five New Images Revealed From THE DAY OF THE DOCTOR!

Six days to go until the world premiere of The Day of the Doctor, and we're all still catching our breath from the triumphant (and mind boggling) return of Paul McGann in The Night of the Doctor earlier this week.

Moving full steam ahead, BBC has released 25 new stills from the upcoming historic Doctor Who 50th Anniversary episode. Looking over these new images, do we seeing David Tennant taking the control of the War Doctor's TARDIS? I do think that's Clara sipping tea next to John Hurt's War Doctor in front of a pair of the iconic time traveling Police Boxes.

Be sure to tune into BBC America all this week for their 50th Anniversary Doctor Who programming leading up to Saturday's simulcast of The Day of the Doctor at 2:50pm EST.

Tomorrow night kicks off with two one-hour specials: Doctor Who: Tales from the TARDIS at 9:00 pm EST, followed by The Science of Doctor Who with Brian Cox at 10:00 pm EST.

OK, For Real This Time. Here Is The EXTENDED Trailer to DOCTOR WHO: THE DAY OF THE DOCTOR...

So, a teaser peek to this long awaited full trailer hit unexpectedly this morning. The 40-second spot, heavy on action short on plot, obviously spread like wildfire online. It was assumed to be an early leak and was not specifically identified as a trailer to the trailer.

But as originally planned, the full first look to Doctor Who's 50th Anniversary episode, The Day of the Doctor indeed debuted in the UK on BBC One at 8pm.

"The centerpiece of BBC AMERICA’s celebrations is the global simulcast of Doctor Who’s 50th Anniversary special, Doctor Who: The Day of the Doctor, written by Steven Moffat. The Doctors (Matt Smith and David Tennant) embark on their greatest adventure across space and time."

"In 2013, something terrible is awakening in London’s National Gallery; in 1562, a murderous plot is afoot in Elizabethan England; and somewhere in space an ancient battle reaches its devastating conclusion. All of reality is at stake as the Doctor’s own dangerous past comes back to haunt him." 

"Starring Matt Smith, David Tennant, Jenna Coleman, with Billie Piper and John Hurt. Last seen as the Doctor on January 1, 2010, this will be the first time David Tennant has reprised his role as the Tenth Doctor. During his reign as the Time Lord, Tennant appeared in three seasons as well as several specials. He was first revealed as the Doctor in the 2005 season finale, The Parting of the Ways. Meanwhile Billie Piper, who played companion Rose Tyler for two seasons following the reboot in 2005, will appear in the show for the first time since featuring in David Tennant’s last episode, The End of Time in 2010. The special is directed by Nick Hurran, executive produced by Steven Moffat, Faith Penhale and produced by Marcus Wilson."
