New Nail Biting Clips From 'Gravity' Will Have You Holding Your Breath...

Warner Bros. is officially full tilt boogie in getting the good word on on the much anticipated new sci-fi thriller from Alfonso Cuarón, Gravity.

Following an appearance from the visionary director and star Sandra Bullock at Comic-Con over the weekend, "Drifting" and 'I've Got You" are the two new hold your breath sneak peek clips released this week.

You can also see the new trailer comprised of a tense one-take scene, "Detached," HERE.

 Official synopsis:
"GRAVITY, directed by Oscar® nominee Alfonso Cuarón, stars Oscar® winners Sandra Bullock and George Clooney in a heart-pounding thriller that pulls you into the infinite and unforgiving realm of deep space. Bullock plays Dr. Ryan Stone, a brilliant medical engineer on her first shuttle mission, with veteran astronaut Matt Kowalsky (Clooney). But on a seemingly routine spacewalk, disaster strikes. The shuttle is destroyed, leaving Stone and Kowalsky completely alone‹tethered to nothing but each other and spiraling out into the blackness. The deafening silence tells them they have lost any link to EarthŠand any chance for rescue. As fear turns to panic, every gulp of air eats away at what little oxygen is left. But the only way home may be to go further out into the terrifying expanse of space."
Gravity is set for its long awaited release on October 4th.

FIRST LOOK: 'Item 47'

Marvel Studios has released a clip from the 12-minute short film Item 47, starring Lizzie Caplan and Jesse Bradford, which will be included on this fall's The Avengers Blu-ray.

Taking place immediately following the events in The Avengers, a young couple come to possess one of the leftover alien Chitauri guns in the ruins of New York City, and proceed to go on a crime spree. Two SHIELD agents (Maximiliano Hernandez and Titus Welliver) pursue the would be Bonnie and Clyde who happen to armed with alien handgun heat.

This is not the first short film set in the established big screen Marvel universe. Item 47 follows two previous tie-in's featured in previous home releases. The Consultant and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Thor’s Hammer were extras on the Thor and Captain America: The First Avenger DVD/Blu-ray.

Item 47 already screened at Comic-Con this past week, and setting the story immediately after Earth's Mightiest Heroes' victory over Loki's failed alien invasion of NYC seeks like a sure fire hit bonus feature for the Blu-ray.

Marvel's The Avengers is set for home release on September 25th.

PREVIEW: New Clips & Stills From The CW's 'Arrow'

Hot on the heels of Arrow's Comic-Con panel and screening of the pilot episode (which was met with applause from the audience of fans in Ballroom 20), The CW has released new stills of star Stephen Arnell as Arrow/Oliver Queen and two new clips. The show is based on DC Comics superhero Green Arrow, and promises to follow a darker and more action oriented path than the network's previous comic book based show, Smallville.

Per The CW:
"After a violent shipwreck, billionaire playboy Oliver Queen was missing and presumed dead for five years before being discovered alive on a remote island in the Pacific. When he returns home to Starling City, his devoted mother Moira, much-beloved sister Thea, and best friend Tommy welcome him home, but they sense Oliver has been changed by his ordeal on the island. While Oliver hides the truth about the man he's become, he desperately wants to make amends for the actions he took as the boy he was. Most particularly, he seeks reconciliation with his former girlfriend, Laurel Lance."
"As Oliver reconnects with those closest to him, he secretly creates the persona of Arrow - a vigilante – to right the wrongs of his family, fight the ills of society, and restore Starling City to its former glory. By day, Oliver plays the role of a wealthy, carefree and careless philanderer he used to be - flanked by his devoted chauffeur/bodyguard, John Diggle - while carefully concealing the secret identity he turns to under cover of darkness. However, Laurel's father, Detective Quentin Lance, is determined to arrest the vigilante operating in his city. Meanwhile, Oliver's own mother, Moira, knows much more about the deadly shipwreck than she has let on – and is more ruthless than he could ever imagine."

The series stars Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen, Colin Donnell as Tommy, Katie Cassidy as Laurel Lance, David Ramsey as John Diggle, Willa Holland as Thea Queen, with Susanna Thompson as Moira Queen and Paul Blackthorne as Detective Quentin Lance.

Christopher Nolan Calls 'Dark Knight Rises' Villain Bane A 'Monster'

Check out these preview clips from tonight's Nightline where The Dark Knight Rises mastermind and director Christopher Nolan provides some insight as to why he chose Bane as Batman's nemesis for the final chapter in his trilogy.

“We wanted an antagonist who could stand toe to toe with Batman and trade blows with him in a way that would be threatening and you would actually, genuinely, have fear for Batman’s physical safety,” Nolan told Nightline's Chris Connelly.

“What Bane provides is this incredibly frightening physicality. He’s a militaristic presence, he’s a monster,” he promised regarding the imposing masked villain played by Tom Hardy.

The press junket for the film was held over the weekend in Los Angeles, so there will be a barrage of interviews with the cast and crew appearing online and in print from here until the film's highly anticipated release on July 20th.

Chris Connelly's Nightline interviews with Nolan in addition to star Christian Bale air tonight on ABC at 11:35pm.
