Anne Hathaway Already Shedding Tears Thinking About Selina Kyle, And Knows Nothing About A 'Catwoman' Spin-Off

So this has been picked up many times over by now, but I can see this as something remaining of online interest until this Catwoman spin-off film is finally confirmed to never happen.

In the video below, Anne Hathaway chats with Access Hollywood's Michelle Beadle more on how she dearly misses her Selina Kyle character from The Dark Knight Rises than any spin-off updates from the film.

“No one’s talked to me about it,” the 2008 Oscar Nominee said about returning to the big screen as Selina Kyle (who was never actually referred to as Catwoman).

"I was at a press Q & A thing the other night for a screening of The Dark Knight, and the moderator asked me, ‘So what was it like to say goodbye to the character?’ And I burst into tears, because I miss her,” she said.

“It just makes me cry. I miss her. I love Selina so much and I love her presence in my life and getting to… I’m crying again.”

“So assuming there was enough Kleenex in the world, I would love to do a spin-off.”

The Joker's Whereabouts In 'The Dark Knight Rises' Revealed

If you were wondering exactly where The Joker was during the events of The Dark Knight Rises, the answer can be found in the official novelization of the film. There was speculation on how, if at all, the clown prince of crime would be mentioned in context of the ongoing story arc following the events of The Dark Knight. Director Christopher Nolan was adamant on respecting Heath Ledger's legacy by making no reference to the villain in the conclusion of his Batman trilogy, much less including a cameo of any kind through unused footage or the use of another actor.

In The Dark Knight Rises: The Official Novelization, author Greg Cox reveals that the Joker was not locked away in Blackgate prison along with the all the other criminals who were freed during Bane's takeover of Gotham, but appropriately resting as the last resident of Arkham Asylum.
"Now that the Dent Act had made it all but impossible for the city’s criminals to cop an insanity plea, it (Blackgate Prison) had replaced Arkham Asylum as a preferred location for imprisoning both convicted and suspected felons. The worst of the worst were sent here, except for the Joker, who, rumor had it, was locked away as Arkham’s sole remaining inmate. Or perhaps he had escaped. Nobody was really sure. Not even Selina."

'Dark Knight Rises' MTV Movie Awards Footage Hits The Web

Last month at the MTV Movie Awards, Christian Bale, Christopher Nolan, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Gary Oldman appeared onstage to introduce an exclusive preview of this summer's The Dark Knight Rises. The footage was not made available online following the broadcast and was quickly pulled from any sites posting posting it.

The special preview has now been released to the web community.

TRAILER: 'The Dark Knight Rises" (Final Trailer)

Though this is scheduled to run in previews on the big screen with Marvel's The Avengers this weekend, Warner Bros. gave fans a bit of a head start with an early online release of the third trailer to The Dark Knight Rises.

The moody and methodically paced peek at Christopher Nolan's final chapter in his Batman trilogy paints a picture that is a far cry from your typical a summer blockbuster superhero film, which may surprise very few fans anyways (and is a complete 180 to the inescapable marketing blitz utilized in hyping up The Avengers in the past few months).

With only scant dialogue spoken by Bane (Tom Hardy), it remains unclear if his muffled voice has been made more audible since the IMAX teaser that debuted in December with Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol, and confused many viewers. Judging by some selects snippets, we do get more insight into the film's storyline that will in some way mirror the Knightfall arc from the comic book where Bane not only uncovers Batman's secret identity, but inflicts serious bodily harm that keeps him out of commission for an extended period of time.

The film takes place eight years after The Dark Knight, and although in the comics Bane cripples Batman by snapping his spine over his knee, we will have to wait and see exactly how the masked villain sidelines the Caped Crusader in the film.

But with a shot of a shattered bat cowl, it is heavily hinted that Bruce Wayne is wounded, as he begs for death while held captive by Bane in an underground prison. Though it is now clearer that the title of the film is even more than suggestive regarding Batman's return as heroic character both physically and symbolically as Gotham's protector.

We also get some shots of Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle in her Catwoman costume, glimpses of Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Gotham cop John Blake, and a teaser of what to expect from the newest vehicle in the Dark Knight's arsenal, a high flying ride known as The Bat.

The Dark Knight Rises hits theaters on July 20th.
