Twenty-Five New Images Revealed From THE DAY OF THE DOCTOR!

Six days to go until the world premiere of The Day of the Doctor, and we're all still catching our breath from the triumphant (and mind boggling) return of Paul McGann in The Night of the Doctor earlier this week.

Moving full steam ahead, BBC has released 25 new stills from the upcoming historic Doctor Who 50th Anniversary episode. Looking over these new images, do we seeing David Tennant taking the control of the War Doctor's TARDIS? I do think that's Clara sipping tea next to John Hurt's War Doctor in front of a pair of the iconic time traveling Police Boxes.

Be sure to tune into BBC America all this week for their 50th Anniversary Doctor Who programming leading up to Saturday's simulcast of The Day of the Doctor at 2:50pm EST.

Tomorrow night kicks off with two one-hour specials: Doctor Who: Tales from the TARDIS at 9:00 pm EST, followed by The Science of Doctor Who with Brian Cox at 10:00 pm EST.

An Amazing DAY OF THE DOCTOR Prequel Mini-Episode THE NIGHT OF THE DOCTOR Is Unleashed!

We're nearing the home stretch to The Day of the Doctor's arrival, have you made your plans for where you will be at 2:50 pm next Saturday?

As in the past with Doctor Who season/series premieres and Christmas Specials, we are treated to prequel mini-episodes that help flesh out some poor points, or just to serve as a welcome warm up to the main event. BBC delivers once again, and boy do they deliver BIGTIME with their The Day of the Doctor pre-game, The Night of the Doctor.

So are you ready for your first big exciting punch to gut?

Some burning questions are definitely answered here. Online hopes, speculations and rumors are put to rest with this dense and satisfying seven minutes of back story featuring the welcome return of a familiar figure from Who history.

Doctor Who's highly anticipated 50th Anniversary Special, The Day of the Doctor, is set for a November 23rd global simulcast at 2:50 pm EST.

Here is how BBC describes the episode:
"The Bringer of Darkness, the Oncoming Storm, the Doctor, the Warrior - A Time Lord! The 50th Anniversary features Matt Smith, David Tennant and a mysterious incarnation played by John Hurt. Only one appears in the mini episode, The Night of the Doctor. But which? 23.11.13 #SaveTheDay."

OK, For Real This Time. Here Is The EXTENDED Trailer to DOCTOR WHO: THE DAY OF THE DOCTOR...

So, a teaser peek to this long awaited full trailer hit unexpectedly this morning. The 40-second spot, heavy on action short on plot, obviously spread like wildfire online. It was assumed to be an early leak and was not specifically identified as a trailer to the trailer.

But as originally planned, the full first look to Doctor Who's 50th Anniversary episode, The Day of the Doctor indeed debuted in the UK on BBC One at 8pm.

So without further adieu:

Here is BBC's official info for The Day of the Doctor
"The centerpiece of BBC AMERICA’s celebrations is the global simulcast of Doctor Who’s 50th Anniversary special, Doctor Who: The Day of the Doctor, written by Steven Moffat. The Doctors (Matt Smith and David Tennant) embark on their greatest adventure across space and time."
"In 2013, something terrible is awakening in London’s National Gallery; in 1562, a murderous plot is afoot in Elizabethan England; and somewhere in space an ancient battle reaches its devastating conclusion. All of reality is at stake as the Doctor’s own dangerous past comes back to haunt him."
"Starring Matt Smith, David Tennant, Jenna Coleman, with Billie Piper and John Hurt. Last seen as the Doctor on January 1, 2010, this will be the first time David Tennant has reprised his role as the Tenth Doctor. During his reign as the Time Lord, Tennant appeared in three seasons as well as several specials. He was first revealed as the Doctor in the 2005 season finale, The Parting of the Ways. Meanwhile Billie Piper, who played companion Rose Tyler for two seasons following the reboot in 2005, will appear in the show for the first time since featuring in David Tennant’s last episode, The End of Time in 2010. The special is directed by Nick Hurran, executive produced by Steven Moffat, Faith Penhale and produced by Marcus Wilson."
Check out the first retrospective teaser trailer for the episode HERE and a short clip released earlier this week HERE.

Doctor Who: The Day of the Doctor is set for a worldwide simulcast (and on the big screen in 3D) on November 23rd at 2:50pm EST.

The First Teaser Clip From DAY OF THE DOCTOR Is Here!

It looks like things are really and finally starting to ramp up for The Day of the Doctor, with a little less than two weeks to go before Doctor Who celebrates its 50th Anniversary with the highly anticipated special. BBC officially announced the worldwide broadcast is set for 2:50pm EST on November 23rd.

We don't get much from the episode here, it's by definition a teaser clip. But we do get a peek at a very familiar scarf on Ingrid Oliver don't we?

Here is the official synopsis:
"In 2013, something terrible is awakening in London’s National Gallery; in 1562, a murderous plot is afoot in Elizabethan England; and somewhere in space an ancient battle reaches its devastating conclusion. All of reality is at stake as the Doctor’s own dangerous past comes back to haunt him."

DAY OF THE DOCTOR Teaser Trailer Traces DOCTOR WHO's 50 Year History

We're about a month away from the 50th Anniversary of Doctor Who, which falls on November 23rd and works out nicely for the BBC's event worldwide simulcast of the show's half century episode, The Day of The Doctor.

This new clever teaser trailer narrated by Matt Smith traces the iconic Time Lord's history from the first Doctor, William Hartnell, to the iconic scarf wearing Tom Baker, to Smith, the current curator of the TARDIS. OK sure, so no actual footage from the episode itself is in this teaser, it looks like the BBC is gonna let this simmer as long as it can.

The Day of the Doctor, shot in 3D, teams Matt Smith and David Tennant for the first time. John Hurt joins the adventure as well as Billie Piper as Rose Tyler and current Who companion Jenna Coleman (who has dropped the Louise from her billings). This anniversary show will also be the penultimate adventure for Smith's Eleventh Doctor, who will meet his demise at year's end in the Who Christmas Special and regenerate into number Twelve, or will it be Thirteen (set to be played by Peter Capaldi)?

The First Images from DOCTOR WHO's 'THE DAY OF THE DOCTOR' Revealed!

BBC has released the first official images from the upcoming Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Special, The Day of The Doctor.

Teaming up for the fist time are Matt Smith and David Tennant as the Eleventh and Tenth Doctors. Joining them is John Hurt as a still unidentified incarnation of the iconic Time Lord, though speculation predominately points to an unseen version that existed between Paul McGann's Eighth and Christopher Eccleston's Ninth. Jenna Coleman will be on hand as The Doctor's current companion Clara Oswald, and Billie Piper is set to return as Rose Tyler.

The half century in the making episode will have a worldwide simulcast on November 23rd, and have additional 3D presentations in select movies theaters. I was a lucky attendee of the NYC premiere of Asylum of the Daleks at the iconic Ziegfeld Theater, and it was an amazing experience to watch the Doctor on the big screen. I urge you to experience Day of the Doctor in a theater full of your fellow Whovians if you have the opportunity in your town.

Additionally from BBC:
"BBC AMERICA is releasing the very first images from the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary episode The Day of the Doctor, premiering Saturday, November 23.

The special will be feature length with 75 minutes of adventure, starring Matt Smith (How to Catch a Monster), David Tennant (Broadchurch), Jenna Coleman (Dancing on the Edge), with Billie Piper (Secret Diary of a Call Girl) and John Hurt (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, Alien).

For the first time ever, the world’s longest running and most successful sci-fi series will be broadcast simultaneously to millions of viewers worldwide in a global simulcast. From the U.S. to the UK, Canada to Colombia, Brazil to Botswana and Myanmar to Mexico, fans in at least 75 countries, spanning six continents, will be able to enjoy the episode at the same time as the UK.

On top of the worldwide TV broadcast, BBC AMERICA will announce in the coming days details of select 3D screenings of the anniversary episode in theatres in the U.S."
