New 'Q' - First Look At James Bond's New Gadget Master in 'Skyfall'
Here is the first official look Ben Whishaw as MI6's tech master, Q, from the upcoming 23rd James Bond adventure, Skyfall.
Desmond Llewelyn portrayed Q in 17 Bond films from 1963-1999 along side Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, and Pierce Brosnan. When the actor passed away, John Cleese took over as the techy in 2002's Die Another Day after appearing as Q's assistant, R, in 1999's The World Is Not Enough.
Whishaw is bringing a younger take on the character, and it remains to be seen if his lighthearted nature will be retained. The Daniel Craig-era Bond films have taken an edgy and violent direction for the series. and it will be interesting to see if there is a role for the type of campy moments previously associated with Q tutoring 007 on the latest MI6 gadgets.
Skyfall, directed by Sam Mendes, is set to hit theaters and IMAX screens on November 9, 2012.

50 Years of James Bond Coming To Blu-ray
The box set, Bond 50, will not only include the entire film collection encompassing 1962's Dr. No to 2008's Quantum of Solace, but also have 130 hours of bonus material. No release date has been set, but is available for pre-order.
In case you're keeping score, absent from the collection will be 1983's Never Say Never Again. That film, a remake of Thunderball, was produced independently of United Artists and takes place outside of the Bond continuity. Despite getting Sean Connery back into the role after Roger Moore succeeded him, it is not considered an "official" James Bond film.
Additionally, this year will also see the release of the 23rd film in the series on November 9th, Skyfall, starring Daniel Craig and directed by Sam Mendes.
Check out the preview below. While a bit short with images from the Sean Connery and Roger Moore years, it is still without a doubt an impressive body of great espionage action.
